After ending 2024 as the sixth-best-selling SUV in Australia overall - and the car that was the absolute third in the highly competitive “big SUV under $80,000” category - MU-X deliveries in the first quarter of 2025 were eased due to lower inventory levels of the outgoing MU-X 24MY models.
The situation changed with the arrival of the 2025 MU-X model, which has a sophisticated design and a host of new technologies. MU-X achieved impressive results by selling 1,643 units in May, followed by 2033 units in June, an unprecedented monthly record. Another 1,635 units were delivered in the next month, a record for July.
For the first time, the Isuzu UTE dealer network has achieved more than 5,000 deliveries of MU-X vehicles (a total of 5311 units) over a three-month period. Demand for the highly anticipated 2025 MU-X X-TERRAIN model was particularly strong.
Mr. Junta Matsui, Managing Director of Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA), says: “Our ambition was for the new MU-X to be well received, but these results confirmed how strongly the Isuzu UTE SUV resonates with a wide range of Australians.”
As spring approaches and school holidays begin, IUA intends to help more families enjoy the best of the Australian lifestyle. From off-road to highways, from the red heart of Australia to getting kids to school, the MU-X offers reliability and luxury in a real vehicle that can go anywhere and do anything.
The end of 2024 results saw the delivery of 17,978 MU-X cars to Australian homes, with the Isuzu family SUV ranking as the 15th best-selling car in Australia. The popularity of MU-X indicates the possibility of increasing this record, subject to inventory availability. These circumstances have prompted IUA to work hard with Isuzu globally to increase MU-X production for the Australian market. With inventory increases confirmed as of September, customers are advised to place their orders with local dealers now to ensure they get their cars before delivery.
The introduction of Isuzu UTE financing and Isuzu UTE insurance products earlier this year, each of which is available through the national Isuzu UTE dealer network, further simplifies the potential ownership journey.
